The first swept-wing plane used by the Navy�s famed Blue Angels show team was the Cougar. It was also the fist swept-wing design used on aircraft carriers. Basically a redesign of the straight-wing F9F Panther. By the F9F-8 model, the top speed reached 714 mph, or even Mach 1 in a dive. The F9F was used from 1952 until 1960, with almost 2000 produced.
