The A-4 was officially called the Skyhawk, but picked-up the nickname Scooter from it’s small size and easy maneuverability. The United States Navy Blue Angels used the A-4 from 1974 to 1986. The Skyhawk could take a lot of abuse and that endeared it to pilots.
