The DT was an early bi-plane torpedo bomber. The United States Army flew two of them around the world in 1924, making the DT the first plane to circumnavigate the planet. Four planes took off, but only two made the trip. Frequently fitted with pontoons for sea travel. The salt from the sea water was hard on the plane so it was only in use from 1921 to 1928.
