The Flying Boxcar was the successor to the C-82 Packet. Both had the twin-boom design, but the Flying Boxcar had several improvements. The cockpit moved to the front from the top, and the wings were made stronger. The Air Force used the C-119 designation while the Marines used R4Q. The C-119 could carry almost 40,000 pounds.
