In 1967, the F-111 was the first fighter craft with a swing wing.   The Aardvark was equipped with terrain-following radar (TFR).  TFR allows the jet to fly at high speeds in dark or bad weather below enemy radar.  The FB-111 was used against Lybia in 1981.  In 1991 the Aardvark flew 4,000 sorties without a single loss.  It was retired in 1996.
