Commissioned in 1980 to compete with Soviet MiGs. Engine thrust is the same as the weight so the take-off and acceleration is fantastic. The aircraft can turn up to nine Gs, or nine times the weight of gravity. The human body can just barely take this without passing out. The Fighting Falcon is a superb jet fighter that has proven itself numerous times. The F-16 is the choice of the United States Air Force show team, The Thunderbirds.
