The China Clipper was used in flights from one coastline to another. The Clipper ships didn’t need an airport, they would land in the water and taxi up to a dock. The China Clipper first flew November 22, 1935. The passengers had private cabins compete with beds. Ultimately, after World War II clippers weren’t economical to fly.
